5 A Day Research The science and history behind the 5 A Day program
Just as the 5 A Day program’s “eat more” recommendation
is based on a wealth of research, the 5 A Day program is itself the subject
of extensive research to maximize its effectiveness as a unique public/private
partnership. After all, America’s very health and wellness is at stake.
The program is jointly sponsored by the National Cancer
Institute (NCI) and the Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH). The National
Cancer Institute funds behavior change and communications research to determine
effective
strategies for increasing fruit and vegetable consumption.
