Campaign Mission and History We are building for the future of America's health
Mission The mission of A Campaign for Better Health is to get the message to children that eating a colorful variety of fruits and vegetables every day leads to better health. The campaign is designed to raise the necessary income to ensure the future success of PBH, so that we in turn can secure the longevity and growth of the fruit and vegetable consumption message.
Phase 1 of the campaign launched in October 2002 to members
of the fruit and vegetable industry. Monies raised during this phase of
the campaign were invested in a "capital endowment fund." This
type of long-range investment helps to ensure the financial stability of
the foundation in future years.
Phase 2 of the campaign now underway allows individuals to support our effort.
Phase 2 funds are dedicated to our outreach to children. Changing eating behavior is no easy task. By focusing our attention and funds on children, the foundation is able to create programs that will teach them healthy eating habits that include fruits and vegetables that will serve them for a lifetime. And prepare them to pass these same healthy eating habits on to their children.
